The City of Troy, Montana is a community in Northwest Montana that has the destinction of being the Gateway to Montana and lowest in elevation. Nestled between mountains and along the banks of the Kootenai River, with plenty of wildlife and scenic views to enjoy.

Community Christmas Tree Lighting

The Community Christmas Tree Lighting event is planned. This year the lighting will be on November 29, 2014, on the corner of Kootenai Avenue and 2nd Street. Starting at 5:00 pm games will start for the little ones in front of the Lincoln Theater/Preview Cafe. 6:00 a Christmas program will be at the Theater. Entry is free and will provide coffee and popcorn. Santa and Mrs Claus will be arriving at 7:00 pm. As soon as Santa and Mrs. Claus are settled the tree will be lit. We will be serving Hot Cocoa, Coffee and Cookies. We are in need of cookies. If you would like to donate some for the Tree Lighting please let us know at 406-295-4151 or drop off at City Hall, 301 E. Kootenai Avenue. Thank you.


CITY ATTORNEY: The City of Troy, Montana (pop. 938) is seeking a city attorney. The city attorney provides sound legal and litigation advice on civil matters to the mayor, city council, and city departments. The city attorney also prepares ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other documents. Litigation authorization and policy direction comes from the mayor and city council.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree, juris doctorate degree, and current licenses to practice law in Montana.
